Is it a good idea to use CFL lamps WITH Sodium Lamps for Flowering?

Quick question, would it be a good idea to use a CFL 250 w alongside a 600 w Sodium during Flowering - or is it a waste of time?
I just want to boost the light until I have enough cash for another Sodium.
Any advice well appreciated

It wouldn't hurt. Not sure how much it would really help though either.

Thanks again for replying my post and giving me advice
I felt that the CFL might get lost in it all but was going to try it - thought I'd ask first Cheers

One other question - I recently dropped and broke one of my CFL 250's.
I have one 250 CFL left, plus the shade and ceramic fitting from the bulb that broke.. and also a 125w CFL bulb. Am I right in thinking that whatever "transformer" the bulb uses is within the bulb and that I can use this 125w CFL in the same shade that housed the 250w CFL which broke?
Sorry for asking so many basic questions, i just don't want to start a fire or anything

Yes, your 125 watt cfl will work with the same fixture as the 250 watt cfl.

Thanks night train , that means my reflector doesn't have to hang about and i don't have to worry about causing a fire with my sometimes stoopid experimenting

put the cfl's very close to the plant near the middle-bottom; the HPS will take care of the top & middle layers.

whether HPS, MH, or fluorescent, it's called the ballast. the transformer is the voltage-increasing part of the ballast.
*and for cfl's, the ballast is in the base of the bulb; within the plastic housing, between the glass pig-tail and the metal screw-in contacts.
