CFL aren't hot. My 125w is 3 inches from my buds as we speak. You do need fan for air circulation though.

Best thing ive used great for veggie in the winter then poppin em outside.
i used 2 45watt cool white that put out 3000lumens and a 42 watt warm that puts out 2700lumens. the only probelm that ive encountered is how to hang em so all the light possible can get on the plant.... any thoughts??
