I would to thank everyone who; gave me tips and advice, left comments held open discussion on the topic of the grow box, and those who posted pictures of their own boxes which have inspired me. i would also like to thank one of my sons who helped build the box and done the electrical and i would like to thank my other son who built my light hood.

is there any light in the light reflector?
those CFLs are great suplemants for side buds once hey get larger but for now they are pretty far away to do much. get them closer and you may want to invest in 42 watt CFLs that they say are equal to 150 watts of incandescent i think.
Remember light drops off exponentially.closer is better esp when using cool CFLs

i must admit we did a good job especially our sheet metalist. the box is 4ft.x2ft.x4ft. so far we're running 5 lights 2 on the left side 2 on the right and 1 attached to the hood. we have 1 exhaust fan towards the top of the box nd 2 fans for circulation on the rear left and right corners

i made a misttake the box is 4X2X3 and i also wanted to add that once we ca control our heat completely we plan on adding a 250 watt

250 will get the job done. Trust me... its a bitch to try fighting the height of the light with growth.

Oh yes 600 is what im upgrading to now. Just saying its possible to run a 250, just a bitch keep it close enough to penetrate.

I'd start small, do a 250 for a couple grows and then upgrade. I mean you could sell an ounce and pay for everything.

i duno ,if your going to upgrade why waste money on a 250,you really dont want any less then 20 watts sq foot even that is cutting it 25 to 40 is prime ~

Ya but he could always buy the MH/HPS Switchable ballast and use the 250 for a veg room if he wants one.

so far we're waiting for the next grow to really use the 250's tho. we have both 250's but its a matter of having what we need and extracting the heat from the box

we actually found chains and are using them to hold our light hood so we can adjust the height. what a find, gotta love treasure hunting

I got an LED for that small of a space to reduce heat.
this is the one i just got
i'm still trying it out, but it seems to be doing alright so far. for $300 i'd say it's one of the sweetest deals for a small/simple operation.
