Veg to flower time frame.

So, a few times I've grown, I've started 12/12 from seed. Bagseed or mad long sativas usually.
I'm going to have a single Dr. Grinspoon seed. I want to grow it just for the novelty of having done it, and because there aren't any start-to-finish grow logs on the interwebs just yet.
Anyway, I noticed when growing 12/12 from seed, it still takes 2+ weeks to show sex (or until the 2nd or 3rd node is out of the ground). My question is, since it takes that extra time to show sex anyway, would it make more sense to just veg for 2 weeks and then flip?
I guess what I'm asking is how early can a plant actually take its cue to start flowering?

Why should that mean it isn't real?

I just want to flower it asap because it flowers for 100 days . Since I have some plants in rotation now, I was gonna do 12/12 from seed because I didn't wanna run my veg lights just for that one plant.
I guess I'll give it a little veg time

I have 2 Hazes flowered "from seed". In actuality, I waited for the 2nd branching(about 10 days) to switch light time. They just showed sex a week ago, and it's been 5 weeks since I popped 'em.. I say go for it, if for no other reason than a start to finish grow log of the spoon...

just throw it under 2 daylight cfl,s for 2 weeks. maybe a 3rd would not hurt either. i found my plants are long and thin when thrown in 12/12 rather than in 24/0

I bring gloom when I step in the room,
With the fumes of a tomb.

Well, its a pure sativa so its gonna be long and thin either way
I dunno. I'll probably fail and fuck it up anyway, but it will be a cool experiment for $8 I've heard its pretty tough to grow. IDK if its the lack of patience or that its probably really sensitive.

will you link that growlog for me? I remember watching it but it's lost now.
Also, Rasjeph, I'd veg for about 2 weeks if I were you just to let it get some bearings before you flower it. I've never had good yields flowering from seed, just a week of veg doesn't increase the overall plant size, but triples the yield.

Ah, sweet growlog. I don't think I'd have the patience doing that as my main strain, but I'll just leave her in the room with the other girls and I'm sure time will fly
