my babies, last day of veg, flowering starts tomorrow :)
    #302365 - 10/23/09 09:12 AM (15 years, 1 month ago)

I can't believe how fucking dense and leafy these girls are. the 600W has a seriously noticeable difference on internodal distance, I'm so excited to see how the buds turn out on these ladies :grin:

Pineapple express in the foreground, bogglegum behind it. you can see how quickly they took to the new pots.

Brown Bomber:

my cutie little seedlings, thinking I might just transplant these and flower them at this size just to see what happens.

and my one surviving clone thus far (but I'm pretty sure I've got 3 more with roots soon to be established)

gonna move the clones to a veg area and flip everything else over to a 12/12 tomorrow. What do ya'll think?

EDIT: week 5 Update-

Bogglegum

Pineapple express (I can't believe how fucking huge this plant gets in the first 2 weeks of flowering!)

and brown bomber

not the healthiest crop I've ever had, but will certainly be the largest yield thanks to my new 600W and 8x more grow space than my last round. Next grow I'm going to be much more careful about the mites and I think I can pull down a killer crop

EDIT: Week 7 of 12/12 (december 9th)

These girls are taking considerably longer than I was expecting them to... even the more indica bubblegum looks like it's got more than just a week left. I'm guessing that the stress from mites in the first week of flower delayed them by a little bit.

either way, these plants are STINKY, frosty and looking great. no issues since about the second week of flower after I eradicated the mites, so they're producing nicely.

Pineapple express; this plant is showing it's trainwreck lineage quite a bit now, floppy as hell and barely even able to support it's own flowers

Bubblegum getting frosty, and pretty decent bud size so far. got a week or two left so I'm sure it'll keep filling out.

and the brownbomber- originally my least favorite of all the strains, it has such a crazy weird growth pattern and bud structure that I'm starting to love it more and more. plus, it's sugary as a motherfucker :grin:

Oh, and ya'll remember those seedlings? they've grown up a tad

12/14/09
Update for new equipment!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNDDDDD Chop time last night :smile:

little bit lazy on the manicuring cause this is all pretty much going to personal smokage and generous christmas presents for all my friends

here's about 1/3 of the plant I trimmed last night;

here's the rest of it, just chopped this morning, my entire Pineapple Express;

bubblegum came down this morning :wink:

Pineapple express-

Final Dry Weight; 6.4 ounces
Quality; :ass: :drooling: :ass:

Bubblegum-

Final Dry Weight; 4.1 ounces
Quality; :discorex:

Big Mamma-
Final weight; two nugs in a dixie cup, like an 8er maybe? :lol:
Quality;  :whoo:
(this is pretty much the most beautiful weed I've ever grown in terms of color and density. I popped 10 more of these seeds today so I can establish a mother and really pwn some n00bs)

And just in case anyone was wondering if 2010 is going to be as wonderful as 2009 at the ballsach household;

only about a month or so. I can't honestly believe how fast they've been growing. this picture was only two weeks ago right after I transplanted to the 5 gal buckets;

as you can see, they've nearly tripled in size in just two weeks. when I got them they were all in solo cups about the size of that one clone I posted...extremely fast veg growth, but that could be partly due to my new light :grin:

Harry,
Very impressive. The brown bomber looks really dark and dense. These photos make me very envious of you indoor guys. Gotta role with the cards I'm delt for now.

what are you using for a medium?

Nice work :thumbup:

I got my light at the annual 20% off sale at our local hydro store so it wasn't too bad. I'll have to dig out the receipt, but it's a lumatek 600W digital with an xtrasun AC hood.

Also, I use hempy buckets and lucas formula

Thanks everyone!

I grow with hempy buckets which means nothing but vermiculite and perlite. my traditional recipe was 20-25% vermiculite and the rest perlite, but I ran out of vermiculite, so the brown bomber and Bogglegum are in 100% perlite. the PE is in my traditional recipe.

Honestly, haven't really noticed that the vermiculite does anything positive for the plant. my Pineapple Express is by far the fastest one for height, but it's a different strain so who knows. :shrug:

I am conducting several greenhouse experiments right now at the university about soil composition, cation exchange capacity, measuring both above and below ground biomass productivity. I'll keep you all posted, should get some legit data about if vermiculite really does contribute ")

Yah, this is why I want to at least move to a 4 lamp t-5 setup.  My seedlings are a 37 days old and 14-15" tall max.  Your main stems are nice and thick too, funny thing is I've never been able to get my main stems that thick around.

Wow...100% Perlite?  Very curious about how that works out...but judging from these pics, it works very well.

How often do you water and how much, technique?

How often you feed them Nutes?

It's a hempy grow.  You drill a hole a few inches from the bottom in your bucket, fill the bucket with water until it starts dribbling out the hole.  The reservoir acts like a natural water table.  Since it's a soiless medium you have to feed them nutes with every watering (which can be daily in some cases).

IMO it's the easiest way to grow, and is the method I'll be using when I flower.  Helped a friend get setup with this and he pulled 8 oz's off of 4 plants no problem.

Perlite is very versatile..

I can speak for its liquid holding abilities, if you read on the shroomery you know about it!

My only question is what the hell do you do with a 5 gal bucket full of perlite when your done??? That shit is messy as hell!

yeah, that's my issue right now too.... I'm thinking about maybe using hygrozyme or something that will just break down old root tissue and re-using the perlite a couple times. otherwise I guess it's just going in the trash.....

I was just gonna put it in the trashcans. I've got my med card anyway, so the worst they can do is question me and then leave.

I know, I've only had it for about a month or so, I'm still having a hard time adjusting to it basically being completely legal for me now.
