Can anybody steer me toward a high quality LED light setup? Price does not matter. I want something that actually works for all phases of growing. I realize that LED yields might be less than a HPS, but I can't grow in the summer anyway because of heat buildup. So, getting 50% as much yield isn't a huge deal to me.

Hm... Can somebody tell me why there is such huge price discrepancy between two web sites on the same type of setup?
http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=53987
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180461337503
Are either of these setups any good?

I have heard that flourescents suck for flowering, but I have never tested it. Flourescent cool white bulbs are awesome for vegetating (I have my moms under them and I constantly have to chop them down because they are so growing so lushly).

Trying to find out info on LED's in general. I'm a newb at this stuff.

See...this is what fucking puzzles me. The first video shows badass LED yields with the tomato plant and the second video shows a stringy-ass and pathetic looking pot plant under the LED that produced horrible looking buds. Which is it? Reasonable yields or crap yields?

The mystery deepens:
I've been poking around icmag.com. There is a vendor on the site called www.hydrogrowled.com.
I am reading that the reason that a lot of LED's aren't producing well is because they are not giving heat to the plants. As we all know, HID's run very hot and give off lots of heat. But, these GrowLED fixtures have some extra heat wattage added in to eliminate that problem. Some of the pictures I am seeing look pretty damn good. LED's look like they work when you buy high-quality and use them properly.

Where the vendor talks about heat importance:
Shit...I can't find it now. I remember reading it and it's on that vendor forum somewhere. Basically, the vendor says that plants fruit best when their surface area is a bit warmer. Since LED's give off little heat they added some heat stuff to give their setup an extra "heat-oomph".
Examples of at least some budding success with LED's:

Admittedly, the buds aren't monsters. But, they appear good enough for your average smoker.

Wow... must be nice living where you live. You could bring that $900 QP of dank to my area and sell it for $1200 no sweat. 1/8's of good shit go for $60 around here. Somebody needs to start smuggling this stuff my way.

pha3r0 said: If you add the cost of nute/scrubber etc that he already had hes more then $400 in the hole. Then if I compare apples to apples and say his QP is worth $700 he's totally upside down and needs another full harvest to break even.
It always takes a grow or two to break even on the initial cost of material. From just looking at those buds...it does appear that LED's can deliver in flowering. Are they as good as an H.P.S.? No. But, if you are in a confined space with no venting or you want to keep your electric bill down and the initial cost of the LED panel doesn't bother you then I can see how they can be a viable alternative to H.P.S.
However, I do admit that the inconsistencies between LED grows does bother me. How are some people able to get decent looking buds, but others get garbage? What is the factor that is causing these discrepancies?

I can't. Hence why my girls don't always look their best by week 8.

No. I feel sketchy enough going to the local hydro store to buy bulbs and nutes. Whipping out even more money for even more stuff/accessories just looks shady.

I was going to order it online...to another person's house.

You're probably right. I still get freaked out going to those stores though. I remember laying out $1,000 in cash for my first pimp H.P.S. light and a decent ebb-and-flow table with a bunch of stuff and I was sketched out.
