Fucking interesting.
I'd love for someone knowledgeable on the subject to elaborate.

Take a branch and make a a notch the shape of a "v" about halfway threw the stem where you want the roots. Make a splint set up with a Popsicle stick or whatever to support the branch where you made the notch. Wrap coco coir, a root cube, rapid rooter, perlite and verm, around the stem where you made the notch. Wrap that in some kind of saran wrap.
Oh yeah you can put root hormone or gel on the spot before wraping it.

I was actually going to do a write up on this but haven't really had any time. It works great for trees that don't clone easy.
Only reason I thought it would be useful for marijuana cultivation is you could air layer a single plant in march and have 30+ air layered clones ready for the outside season.
This way if you got busted you would only have 1 plant instead of 30.
Pot is really easy to clone though. Like I said. Layering is for stubborn species of plants.

nice. i remember reading about this in high times like 10 yrs ago. they were talking about getting more fro your plant so instead of getting popped with multiple plants you only get pinched for 1 big ass plant. it seems a bit of a novelty but would be realy cool to see.
