Why can't you just clone plants over and over agean.

Every once in a while I here people telling me you can't just keep cloneing clones. They say every once in a while you have to start by seed. Is this true?
I live in Indiana and I'm thinking about investing in some seeds from Attitude. The seeds have to be auto flower, otherwise the October frost will likely kill them before harvest. If I want like five seeds it would cost me about $60 (including $13 shipping).
Smell is a problem in my living area. Dose anyone think I could just grow this season outdoors and keep cloneing in veg in the winter to save the genetics?

Bs from what.I hear.
I heard Of people keeping mothers for 15+ years without any advesre effects.
Also if you plan on cloning autos you can't unless you do it via tissue culture.

Sweet! and I'm hunting around a bit to see if I can figure out how make my mother plants genetics last all year round without wasting a lot of electricity. If anyone wants to help me out with that that would be great.

To a degee, its a myth.
You can have the plant become rundown but that's another story. There is little genetic breakdown because its not really a "clone" on a cellulal level.
Every plant (cutting) is a true, entact tissue sample and does not break down.
Keeping a mother plant is a convenience though and ensures against the transfer of issues.
Other than that, a " clone of a clone" is not exactly that. Its fine Each cutting is just an extension of the mother.

Aside from the potential of transfering pests and diseases, they should be the same.

I've done 12+ generations of clones and the last batch had the most flavor yet.

They used to sell clones on the dark net markets. I don't see why not. long as it doesn't go through customs.(aka shipping international)

I think you'd be able to mail a clone if you package it right, maybe put a coin cell battery and LED to keep it from being in the dark. It might not last more than 2 days but I think it would be possible.

People mail orchids that are in bloom, to collectors and stuff like that, but large companies who do it regularly still charge $25 for shipping on a single plant.
Either way, sketchy as fuck- I wouldn't want anything to do with it. I don't even consider CL ads for clones in an area where growing the stuff is legal.

I remember seeing.a old tek on the web showing how to mail clones. You basically use a bottle with some wet perlite and a little light rigged up. Gonzo bags can solve any smell issues. I would use next day or priority shipping.

I knew a guy who mailed clones in a big zip lock bag and a wet paper towel wrapped around the stems. seemed to work alright

You can clone over and over.I've had some of my genetics for 5+years now with no issues. Just make sure the mothers don't get diseases otherwise the disease will transfer over. As for your short grow season, try an Indica or sprout and veg indoors for a bit during early spring to get a head start.
