250w MH for mum?

i just moved into a new house. theres some nice closet space for me to work with
one closet is about 2'X 2' l/w, and about 6.5 - 7' h
its has a shelf about 5/6th of the way up.
so the foot of head space above the shelf is going to be strip flouros for cuttings/seedlings, etc.
in the bigger bottom part of the closet, i have hanging, a 250w MH(yardsale $20...ballast,bulb,reflector)
what im wondering is, can i use the 250wMH on a cycle(such as 18/6) for a mother plant?

Yes sir.
You shouldn't have any problems with that.
With good air exchange heat shouldn't be a problem either.

250wMH would be perfect for your mother plant. But you might want to add an HPS for a broader spectrum during flowering.

no flowering.
its just my mum box.
not worried about making it light tight or any dat jazz
just need some good ventilation i suppose.
weve only got one hydro store out here, i dont think that have something as small as i need...
i popped the shelf out after a long frustrating day of not being able to find some apropriately sized floro tube lighting, so now it IS 7'
at its highest, the tip of the bulb will be around 5'
get a NICE FATTY mum in there

For a fan that small you can get an inline from home dept for about $30 bucks. Just add a pigtail for a plug

alright, the 400hps was way too hot and bright for that space
so its back to the 250mh...i dont like it. its nice because it stays nice and cool. but theres not much growth under this light. seems like seedlings grow faster under the t5's than the MH...?

Yeah, don't tell anybody but I love t5s.
Always go with your gut, and what your eyes and the plant tell you.
