I set out some nice clones about a week ago when the night temps were in the mid 40's because I usually wait too long to get a jump on spring.
This week there has been a cold spell. Day temps in the 60's, but the past 3 nights have dipped into the upper 30's.
Am I screwed? Is there any way to insulate the plants to retain heat through the night? The forecast calls for more cold weather for the next 2 nights. Zone 6.

I take it you have them outside? If so its too early for zone 6. You should put them out when the farmers start putting out crops. So yeah, you are screwed, if I'm understanding you correctly.

If you have reasonable access to them and they are very secluded, you could build a 'cold frame'. It is basically a clear box made of plastic that shelters the plant from the wind and cold. You could build one from some plastic sheets and a pvc skeleton or even get a clear rubber-maid tub. Whatever you do though, make sure you leave at least a crack for air exchange.

He could, but I would try avoiding any attention. Maybe thats not a problem though. Its just too early for zone 6 though. We still have freezes in the future.

outdoors is kinda sketchy nowadays. with the strange snow storms,cold spells etc. I know here we get cold days for a while then well get some nice sunny warm weather, then back to chilled temps.

I've got easy access to the site, and it's in a very secluded area, so that shouldn't be a factor.
I was considering doing something like you were referring to. Maybe taking those cone/cylindrical shaped metal frames people use for tomato plants and wrapping them with plastic sheeting. I'll be sure and cut some holes for ventilation.
I checked on them today, and they're not wilted, but I can tell the cold got to them. I'm sure it's been asked before, but can anyone tell me at what temperature does the cold begin to seriously negatively affect the plants?

Real damage would only occur if it drops below freezing for a while. A light frost will not do much if any harm to your plants, they are very hardy. If you just need something cheap and effective for only the coldest nights you could try watering the plant very well and then wrapping 2-3 blankets around a tomato cage like you said; the water makes it harder to cool off the ground around your plant and the blanket helps hold and trap any heat that the ground would release. Just remember to remove the blanket in the morning.

I read that if a plant is too cold for enough time it will form bloches of sort on the leafs. so like dp said u should be good...

Question:
Everything I read says that you don't want your plants to drop more than 10 degrees at night. So, is that BS or what? I keep mine at 73 when the lights are on and it drops to 67 when the lights are off. Just curious because I may have some issues once I get my lg space up and running.

Ideally your temps should only drop ten degrees at night but it obviously won't do them any harm to let it drop lower than that periodically.
