grow room help please

Ok this is where I want to build my box. I can move anything in the first room with all mushy cult stuff. I am limited on moving the washer dryer. I am going to run 1000w hps in a 3x5 or 4x4 box with supplemented uvb. possibly making it 6 inch bigger either way to allow for room for the uvb lights to go in. reflective mylar or something on the inside of the box.
let the ideas come rollin in

what is this ultraviolet supplementing i keep hearing about,,,,fuck that, its unecessary and bs.....if you wanna veg, get a cfl or mh, you wanna fruit, get a hps....UV = bad.... do you think its gonna frost up? its not. there has never been an expirement that confirmed this, only proved it was garbage, and bad for the grower. im not bitching at you bro, just about the uv in general. thats a trick grow space BTW!

I dont know about that. I have been reading about supplemental uvb so I guess its just an experiment for now. it doesnt cost much too try and I am getting a snake so the uvb will not go to waste.
Ok grow supplies I have to date
GrowMaster2 reflector sunmaster 10 1000watt hps ballast 6 inch ducting Sunlift Reflector Suspension System 1000 watt hortilux hps bulb
total cost at local hydro shop 512$

Looks like a good place for a grow. What is the temperature range of the inlet air, during the times you plan to grow? 1000 W is a lot for such a small space. It will get very hot in there, a cool tube would be very useful to control temperature. You will also need a good centrifugal fan and carbon filter.

well I live in Midwest USA in the middle. Its cold in the summer and cold in the winter. I will have to supplement heat and ac for more temperate conditions. what is a cool tube? I was just going to exhaust the heat from the grow room out the window via carbon filter and in the winter when its cold have it exhaust into the room. Right now its like 70F outside dropping into the 40-30s at night.
any ideas on ac units as they will be need be in the room ducted out the tiny window unless. I would rather not have an ac unit sticking out the already tiny window to the basement. so designs or commercially available ac links would rock. I saw one agar was using in an old post on shroomery that sat in the room like a space heater with a vent hose going out the window
I am taking the fuse box apart tomorrow to so I have 3 independant outlets on separate breakers to not overload circuits

You can use a small window AC and set it on a table and have it drain into a plastic tub. Your gonna need a lot of cooling cause that bulb gets hot. have you lit it up and felt the heat coming off it? If it's confined in a box you'll cook your plants without sufficient cooling and airflow. Even the radiant heat coming off it will overheat the plants if closer than 6 feet to em.

Calculating the size of a/c needed.
Also some where on icmag there is a post on how to set up an a/c with out it being in the window. If I run across it later I will post it.
Sweet looking room.

a cool tube a is a piece of glass the has a socket for your bulb and a is open on both ends. You attach a piece of ducting to one end, and then attach your exhaust fan to the other end to pull the heat coming off the bulb out of your room and into a chosen area to reduce the temps in your cabinet. Air cooled reflectors are a must have in a restricted grow area, they're relatively cheap and will save you a lot of headaches.
If you're growing using a 1000 watt light I'd definitely look into an exhaust fan with a 6-8" port as you're going to need to move a lot of hot air quickly to keep your room from turning into the sahara desert.

? I have a 1000 w hps lamp. was thinking of building 3x5 or 4.5x4.5 box. should I make the box larger to accommodate the large amount of heat buildup from the light or is it all gonna be up to the exhaust fan on the light. the light is sealed with 6 inch ducting inlet and exhaust ports. Do you need to put a scrubber or carbon filter on the exhaust for the light since the light has a glass sheild and is sealed up? It will be being vented outside

You have too options here, you can duct fresh air in through the light and exhaust it out without scrubbing and have a second fan connected to a scrubber to do FAE in the grow room (do not use air from the grow area for the light.) Or you can use a single fan and pull air from the room, through the light, and out a carbon scrubber. If you have the money I would go with the two fan setup so later you can add CO2 later if you want to increase yield.

By grow area I mean stinky cab air. You won't be scrubbing the dedicated light cooling duct so you don't want it to be pumping unfiltered smell outside.
