Go larger when you discover that the lighting is an issue you can add different lights. Sorry but all LED manufactures exaggerate thier lights effectiveness.
I grow in a 4x5 room and its a good size for four plants I've have grow journal if you would like to know more. I average two pounds from 800 watts of hid lighting per grow.
FYI theory is trumped by reality every time, and there are more theories then facts in most cannabis forums. Experience is what matters those who have grown tomatoes or any house plant are ahead of the game.
At 5x5 you got 25 square feet. 1000 watts divided by 25 is 40 watts per square foot a perfect fit no need for dimming. All you needed is more ventilation or a cool tube.
Best of luck buddy. FYI the most you will save on power using led vs hid in a 25 square foot tent is 300 watts. That's 300 x 12 hours x 12 cents per kw equals $12.04 per month here in BC Canada but if you live in Texas then it might be worth it LOL.
I would get the 4x4 if you're only planning on using that light. In a 5x5 you'd want that light in the middle, then either 4 COBs or pucks in the corners, or 4 strips on the sides. Ideally you'd have ~720 watts of LED for a 5x5 without co2.
