my first ever grow

Hi all thanks for having me! I'm trying to set up a 600w closet grow. My closet is 2x4x7. I have mylar emergency blankets to line the closet. I have a 70cfm fan for the ceiling to vent and I have a box fan for circulation. The doors are double sliding and I plan on using only one door so light travels into my 10x9 mushroom grow room to help with pinning. The whole room will be cooled by ac. I'm only trying for 3 plants at a time in 5 gallon buckets of hpoo compost/vermiculite/ perlite. I have good seeds. They are grape kush s1 by moxie(3) cr+ by blimburn(2) cream automatic by blimburn(2) ams buy greenhouse(4) arjan haze #3by greenhouse(2) purple bud by white label(2) and red diesel by Barney's(2). I've already decided I want the cream auto outside. For my 3 plants indoors I wanted to do 2 ams and 1 grape kush s1. I also planned on growing 1 grape kush and ams outside as I side by side. Also I should mention I've never grown before. Also I'm a member of shroomery.org under same name. Thanks a lot for the help!

You're gonna have to be a little more specific cause we can go for hours giving random advise.

I guess I'm just wondering if my materials are good enough for a small grow. I'd like to get a few oz off each plant at least. My fart fan is 70cfm and I'll be using a box fan for extra circulation. I know people recommend inline fans at I higher rating but was hoping that with the box fan and ac if it was necessary? Is 1/3 hpoo compost 1/3 coarse vermicultie 1/3 perlite be a good medium? The grow closet is in a 10x9 room that I currently use for mushroom cultivation and was hoping to use the light cycle to promote pinning. I'll line the closet with mylar emergency blankets and take off one door and mylar emergency blanket the other one so the door blocks only half the opening only and allows light to enter the rest of the room. I'd like to use 5 gallon buckets. Any reason this won't produce desirable results?

Well going by the supplies you have listed you should easily hit your goal.

Your plan definitely sounds doable. What stage of growth are your shrooms in? I wouldn't keep anything but sealed jars in a grow room or you'll likely risk soil born contaminations getting into your mushroom substrate.

I'm about to start up again. And they will be in there own monotubs on the far wall. I've never had much contamination since I only flush twice and toss outside. Even with open windows and a fan I've not had much contamination or it doesn't show up til well after I get what I think is a good amount. I could put plastic that's clear down half the room tho.

For a first grow you sure have a lot of materials and a great sense on what to do, should be a great start. Goodluck.

Thanks a lot. I'm just reading the site! If I use 1/3 hpoo compost/ 1/3 vermiculite 1/3 perlite how long can I go without feeding? I'd hate to overfeed and kill them. I'm thinking as good as the compost is it'll feed six weeks but I'm not sure. Its not a super soil either just straw and hpoo that's been turned over until its brown and dirt like.

I wish I could give you a solid answer on how long that mix will feed your plants but I grow almost exclusively in soilless mixes so I feed with nutrients real heavy. I specialized in hydroponic growing during school not soil growing. But I would guess your soil mix would last sufficiently through a 4-6 week veg cycle. Maybe not quite 6 weeks of your plants are vigorous. You'll want to be feeding something else for flowering though.

Would a 13-30-15 water soluble bloom fertilizer work?

Yea for sure. I would start half strength during the last week of veg and work up to full strength for flowering so you don't overdo the phosphorous. Going from nothing but Hpoo to that fertilizer too quick will likely give you over feeding burn.

Better to have to little than to much to see if the plant tolerates it.

Anyone got any experience for AMS from greenhouse and grape kush s1 from moxie seeds indoor and outdoors. I'd like one each outdoor and 2 AMS and 1 grape kush s1 indoor. I'm on the 45th parallel in northeast mi

I was told to start now which makes sense cuz all frosty chills should be over and its starting to be 70-80 degrees, but then again the weather has been pretty weird.

One of the seed starting timeframe websites says may 15 is 50% likely to frost at night and every day after it drop 10%. I'm worried about frost killing seedlings as I will be starting outdoors from seed so I don't have to transplant. I'm using old tires as raised beds. Each tire has 12 gallons of 50 50 compost vermiculite. And there open bottom on sand. Any thoughts? There's no metal showing on tires. People grow tomatoes in tires safely so I said with.
