Hi I was wondering if anyone knows if mycelium helps plants to grow stronger? and if so does it make a difference which mycelium should be used eg. poo lovers or wood lovers.. I have heard that it helps but would be interested if someone has tried it.

i'm not sure about mycelium per se, but there is a symbiotic relationship formed between certain fungi and roots that is really beneficial. Mycorrhizae attach themselves to the roots and feed on the carbs produced by the plant. Likewise, the plant uses the mycorrhizae to absorb water and minerals more efficiently. Also, trichoderma can suppress the invasion of bad fungi which cause root rot.

Good post, saltatory.
Yeah, I've never heard of anyone ever speaking about growing mushrooms in the pots marijuana is growing in. However, I do remember a thread here where someone had a mushroom grow right next to their seedling.

are you going to plant your cannabis in wood or something?
mushrooms take tons of nutrients too and would burn up plants (unless you want like a couple stray mushrooms)
and as saltatory said you want mycohorrizal fungi but theres also beneficial bacreria and shit you can use to keep your plants safe and happy.
look at advanced nutrients lines they have all sorts of shit, theres a vendor here that sells mycohorizzal fungi too.

fungi perfecti has seed starter material that contains the beneficial mycorrhiza for symbiotic plant growth.

Interesting. I've looked into fungi perfecti but unfortunately they don't do international shipping. What I meant with wood was, that some mushrooms grow only on wood so far I heard and that only certain mushroom can form a symbiotic relationship with their host plant. The Question is which fungi would support marijuana plants?
Thanks for your reply folks

I think they're like pellets so it's more user friendly when applying to seeds.

It is actually a mycorrhizae seed inoculant. sorry for the confusion. On the directions it says: "Can be applied directly with seeds into soil. Use 1g of inoculant per each 15g of seeds."
So if saltatory is right that inoculant would give my plant a boost right?

Yes, the fungi actually break down trace nutrients that plants need to a form that the plants can use such as nitrogen and potassium.

amanita muscaria can only grow next to certain types of "host" plants. i believe the firn is one of them...i dont know that much about it.
but i do know that someone should do an experiment with marijuana and amanita muscaria. because if it were possible......think of the possibilities.

As an Amanita hunter I gotta say: indeed.
Pine & birch are the host trees I hunt for in my area. Not sure the details on the mychorzzial relationship, pretty sure that's still a mystery to the mycology community.
I have tried to "re-plant" amanita and bolete stems under the appropriate host trees, but have never has success.

Amanitas are very hard to grow. I've actually havent heard of any successes so far. I've seen em in nature near pine trees. A friend mine is growing mushrooms so I'll be probably try to get some colonized Rye jars and mix it into my soil.
I'll do log with pictures if success is in hand

That'd be awesome, I've never seen any mychorizzial relationships involving ganjo.
And yeah, I've tried tons of outdoor re-planting of amanita/bolete material. No success at all, seems like something that can't be forced until we know more about the genetic shit involved.
I've been tempted to try an experiment this year though. I'm going to take a cutting from a tree with amanitas under it, plant it and bonsai it. Also going to take some of the amanita and attempt to get it to grow along with the bonsai.
Maybe within a few years it'll work. If not, I'll have a bonsai regardless.
