Fluorescent Question

Hey yall. I see T5 setups online for like $100+. I only need a 2 foot one, 2 bulbs is sufficient. Are T5 bulbs any different than the ones I just find in the regular home depot store? I've used CFL up until now, and I was thinking of just grabbing a straight tube setup because it'll be better for the shape of my room.
If not I'll just cop some new CFLs, but I can grab one of those straight tube fluoro setups at Walmart for like $20. I'm wondering if its just "LOL GROW LIGHTS HERE LOL" markup, or if it's actually different.
Before this gets moved, I can't post in grow room design, I don't have access to that forum.

You gotta be more specific. Home depot carries a whole variety of bulbs.

T5 tubes and fixtures come in "HO" (high output) and "HE" (high efficiency) varieties. IIRC they are mutually incompatible. Generally when people talk about T5 for plants they mean T5HO. A 22" T5HO tube should be 24W, the 14W ones are T5HE.

amazon has some custom made t5 fixtures that are the cheapest ive seen. Called durolux. including shipping 4x2ft 58$, 6x2ft 75$ 8x2ft 95$, 4x4ft is 80$ 16x4ft235$ its cheaper the more bulbs you get per fixture. I have no idea what the quality is like, but the price seems good
