co2 in grow tent

been researching...found varying answers from its pointless due to tents not being sealed and in need of exhaust/intake for heat control, to any extra co2 helps
so i have about a 6 foot tube with slices in it circled around above the canopy that the co2 comes out of....i used a co2 flow rate calculator i found on google and so every 3 hours i turn off my intake fan (no exhaust fan) set my tank to 1.5CFH for 15 mins, which according to the calculator would make it a little over the optimum 1500ppm level in my 6.5' square tent
then i turn my fan that moves about 375CFM on to intake cool air from outside the tent and blow it into the tent with everything as closed and sealed as it gets, the tent canvass balloons out and all so its somewhat air tight
but did i waste a bunch of mooney on this setup? i figure SOME spike in co2 levels should help regardless even if it isnt 100% constant

Well there are two different ways to go about this. Have a sealed tent, which you fill with co2, then vent out after a nit and replace again. Or get enough CFM of fresh air going through. If you can attain at 3 times your total CF being exchanged every minute, then you don't need co2.
If you are turning on a fan as soon as you fill your tent with co2, that's just a waste.

Could always just mix bakers or brewers yeast with some sugar and let it vent into the grow area somehow. maybe in a bottle with tubes going over the plants(co2 heavier than oxygen).
ventilation > supplemented co2

the fan moves about 1/3 more than the rooms CFM, so not THAT much, and with the tent sealed as much as possible, is the spike in co2 for even like 30-45 mins out of every 3 hours noticeable? will the plants even be able to utilize it?
heat is my main issue in the tent and i figured co2 would help without really looking into it...the more ive read the more it seems it really shouldve been for a sealed room with internal cooling and a controller
but hey, you live and you learn, and i have the equipment for the future
but now my question is its 7.50 to fill the tank, will prob fill the tank every 10 days.....it will do SOMETHING right? cause now that i have the equipment its kinda like fuck it...25$ a month on co2 isnt bad
how about if i turn the co2 on until it reaches optimum levels and cut it off, then leave it for as long as i can until the temp reaches 95 and then hit the intake on again and leave it for another 2hrs.
so it would end up being elevated co2 levels for like 45mins-1hr out of every three

Buy an environmental controller. It will monitor the co2 levels, the temperature, and humidity. And turn on fans and co2 etc. as needed.
