Q1- Prob just a funky pheno. what are your temps. are they fluctuating much?
Q2-Botanicare is a great choice. that sarter pack is a good buy as well. How many plants are you growing? How large will your containers be? How long will you be vegging? Consider all of those factors (if you haven't already) so that you have an idea how much nutes you will actually need through out veg and flower. While that starter pack is a great buy, you may find that you run out of some of the additives mid way or at the tail end of veg/flower.
Q3- I've rooted in plugs, rockwool, peat pellets, and soil. If you don't over water them and have a well controlled environment you'll do fine, but personally I prefer my ezcloner. I find it easier and i notice that the clones take off much faster when they hit soil. In an ez cloner clones are able to grow a much larger root mass than in plugs/rockwool etc.
Q4- gnats are pretty harmless. unless you have an all out infestation. I hang sticky traps on all of my plants and also feed with sns 209 to keep the white flies at bay. It works really well

Ya. I let my water sit for a day or 2 to let it get to room temp and also bubble out chlorine. Where you've got a well it'd be a good idea to pick up an ro filter. 640 ppm is really fucking high! The amt of water you're gonna need to balence that out will be costly over time.
Growonix makes great quality Ro systems. Check them out

Nah you're good. 600w fixtures don't get super hot. I'm sure you'll need to vent it further into spring though.

Are you in veg or flower?
In veg i keep the lights 20-24" above tbe canopy. I'm not sure how close you could get them in flower. I've seen grows w/ plants 10-12" from the canopy late in flower and they were doing great. It made me wish i had thought of using 600w fixtures when i designed my flower room.
I would lower the light a little each day and see how the plants tolerate it. Some strains are going to be more sensitive than others. How close is your light anyway?
