Autoflower grow question

Hi I had a question regarding the cultivation of autoflowering cannabis plants. After they have sprouted, could I simply put them in some soil in a pot, and place them on my windowsill? Would they grow that way? Or should I get one of those desk lamp grow lights, the kind which are LED and are somewhat tall, you simply plug it in and put your plant at the base of the light and the light shines down on it? According to amazon.com they grow plants very well, are very cheap, and also powerful, not to mention easy to set up; just plug in and turn on. I plan on growing "60-day Lemon Auto" for my first "official" grow. Thanks for the help and guidance.

It will grow, but you might only get a little tiny popcorn nug. Maybe a bowls worth.

Thanks phycotron. But what about my second suggestion, which was to grow them under an LED led lamp as opposed to growing them on a windowsill? The grow light is only about $30 and according to reviews on amazon.com and the creators of the light, it will grow a plant to full maturity quite easily. And all you have to do is plug it in and turn it on, really simple. Thanks and I would love your insight on this matter.

I was referring to both. The light might not do much.

For good growth and buds you need a least 150 watts LED or HID per plant.
FYI Not all LED grow lights are legit either online or in hydro shops.

Spend the 60-90 bucks and get a real grow light. You'll have mediocre to piss poor results with using a windowsill or some crappy led light. Also autos do best at atleast a 18/6 schedule with direct light.

There are a few cases where I recommend cheap LED grow lights. The bud is usually slower and less dense. Still decent bud but not an ideal light for most people. Those with small or minimal requirements can get by with a small generic fixture. I'd just recommend they not keep buying them to scale their operation. If you need more you should switch to a high quality light before wasting money on cheap insufficient garbage. Its a crap shoot when buying, so do plenty of research.
