Could I hear some experiences about heat while using the grow tents?
Im preferably talking about the higher wattage between 1200-2000 in a 6X4 or 8X4 tent with an outside ambient room temp between 70-80.
I am wanting to use a 8x4 with two 1000 watters and want to use air cool reflectors. I was gonna use an oversized 8" 700cfm with a fan controller to control exhaust as needed.
Question is am I gonna need an AC with the lights in the tent and ambient temps between 70-80? I am thinking probably yes? I have a 5000btu window unit I can rig up.
Any insight would be nice on this subject, Thanks

So you delete the post that actually responded to the OP 
Well here it is again then. With 8 inch ducting and fans I would be surprised if you need an ac. But the best way to find out is to do a dry run before you actually start the plants. That way you aren't running into surprises.

Thanks for the answer hawksappreentice. I had sall the hitler post last night but when I came back I had no idea what had happened lol.
I did get the troll to leave me a shit rating though and I haven't even done anything. :/ So thats pretty lame.
But as far as the dry run goes I kind of figured I won't get a real temp until I did a full test run. Thanks for the help man.

i have a 6.5x6.5 tent set up with two 1000 wat lights cool hood. each light has a 400cfm fan hook up and with keeping my fans at full power i keep my ten around 72degrees.... but im on the east coast were the water is cold now so depending on were you live this set up might now work for you.

I am on the east coast as well. When you have those two 400cfm fans at full bore im guessing their pretty freaking loud right? I am kind of wanting to keep the noise as quiet as possible. I will be living in the same space so I have to factor this stuff in.

yes they are kinda loud.. but i just built a sound box for each fan and you cant even hear them anymore... i used to hear the fans threw the whole house.

how big were the boxes? just big enough to fit over the fan itself?
Also where are the boxes inside the tent suspended? or outside of the tent somewhere?

i have the boxes a little bigger then the fans.. they are out side of the grow tent.. this is how it is set up.
inline fan outside of tent.. duct goes from the pulling side of fan into tent to air cooled hood .. then from the other side of the hood to the carbon filter.

Right On man thanks for the information. Its all been noted and going to be put to good use.
One last question I have is building your own tent vs buying. Has anybody built their own? I know it would not be hard at all. Some pvc, glue, tarp, and reflective lining. and pending on what size you build it could cost a hell of a lot less pending on the deal of the tent you get. Please chime in.

i had made my own grow room with panda film with a wood frame it was a 12foot wide by 10 feet deep and 8 feet high and the big problem i ran into was that if the the fans are pulling out a little more air then what goes in the panda film starts to rip off the frame.
oh and for the boxes i also used some memory foam to put in the box as insalation. i picked it up at walmart it was a twin size topper and it fire resistance(make sure if u do use the memory foam as i did to find a fire resistance foam)

Thanks for the tip on insulation as the bed topping. I did't even know you used insulation. I would have tried it and made it without it lol.

k make sure to get sound board to build your box out of .. i used 3/4inch think for two fans you will need 1 8x4 sheet.. you can get it at lowes or home depot..
also use bungee cords to hang the box off the ceiling..that will help keep it from vibrating and cut that sound out. i used 4 bungies per a box to make sure that the when the box is hung it woudl not fall.

is the sound board sound board? or insulation foam for walls?
I would think actual 3/4" sound board would be expensive as shit. As the foam on the other hand is like $20 bucks a sheet?

the sound board is sound board... not insulation foam. and its not to bad in price.. deffently for how much sound reduction you get out of it.. i honestly did not expect it to cut out as much sound as is did. fans are on full blast and cant hear them its great.
you cant use the foam sheets cause you wont be able to make it into a sold box to hold the fan..
and also the memory foam will help insaulate the box for you and its prity cheap.. all i needed was on twin size matress topper for both boxes
