i say it sucks... this coming from a guy who got 2 free copies of windows vista ultimate.
i'd rather have a dual boot of xp (gonna try service pack 3 soon to see if its any better) and Ubuntu. or if i had a mac, a dualboot of the newest OS X and windows xp.
and i've used vista before, trust me.

I'm using Vista (64 Bit) and I see no problems.
In fact, it has some features not in XP.
Most of the people who have complained about Vista turn out to be using inferior computer systems.
Yeah, Vista sucks!
I tried to install it on my Commodore 64 system but I couldn't even get it to read the DVD!

i can't compare Vista to XP, because i went straight from windows ME to Vista.

i've been using vista for over a year and half and i love it. it's fast and looks pretty. i like the search in the shell, i use it all the time. but i also have xp, ubuntu and pxlinuxos in my laptop. i kind of shift from OS's, i'll use mostly vista for a few months, then xp, then a linux flavor and the another flavor. at one point i had vista, xp, osx, ubuntu and linux mint.

Vista has a lot of changes at the operating system level that make it more secure and more efficient but it still runs slower then XP. To be fair, vista is the first OS in years that Microsoft didn't make by just skinning the previous OS.

Yeah, ME was terrible. 98 and XP (after a while) were decent. Sucks that they totally discontinued it. Talk about feeding pirates.
I'm switching partially to Linux, however I will keep Vista for games and whenever I need to use it and Wine wouldn't be sufficient.
At least for now.
