Opinions on pollinated seeds or Hermie seeds?
    #667365 - 04/24/13 01:21 AM (11 years, 6 months ago)

Anyone able to offer any benefits or drawbacks to using one or the other? Will one type produce a better female plant? Meaning fuller buds and or more of them?

I am talking about is there a huge difference between the seeds when develped on a hermie plant or a pollinated plant? Or is a seed is a seed and so on? Not sure what exactly makes a seed feminized either. Thanks for responding.

What your asking doesn't make sense cause all plants with seeds feminized, hermie, or regular are pollinated.

i thought that pollination from male sacs was different than a plant that may have been stressed and thus hermie basically because it self pollinated because it retained the both genes for it. I am wondering if how its achieved matters at all in terms of what the plants that grow out of the two types of seeds will pruduce given that females from both types of seeds are found? I have both not sure if I should use them?

I dont think i would use hermie seeds. The plant grown from hermie seed would it not hermie too?

pollen is like plant sperm, it is produced by the male plant to impregnate the female plant(flower) in order to produced seeds. Seeds themselves do not get pollinated.

Cannabis can be either male, female or both.  If you plant a seed it will most likely be male or female, with the chance of being both. Good seeds come from a male and female plant, the one's that come from a herm plant should be all female, with a higher chance of herming. Some use this method to feminize seeds, whereas others use chemicals on the seeds to reduce the chance of them being male/herm.

Thank you. I was starting to question my question. This site is freakin awesome. Thanks!"budgreene" My opinionion on seeds from a hermie plant is if it came from a hermie it has both genes so it may be 50/50 chance of what you get. I am not sure, that's why I asked.

Ok, lets clear this shit up.

First off you do not make seeds from plants that hermie. Now if a breeder is doing his job he stresses the plants with water, age, light, and so on to try and make it go hermie. The plants that go hermie are then thrown out. The ones that show no signs of being hermie are then forced to make male flowers with chems that block the hormone that makes female flowers. Since the male flowers are on a female plant not a male and not a hermie  plant they can only produce female pollen. When this process is done right the chances of hermie seeds are the same as when done with regular male and female parent plants.

You will get normal seeds. Weather the plant came from feminized seeds or regular once growing a plant is a plant.
