hermie risk from feminized seeds

why do so many major seed companies only sell feminized seeds if its so common for them to turn hermie?
from what ive read greenhouse and barneys seeds seem to be the major culprits, is it really as bad as what ive been reading on other forums.
growing fems would make such better use of the grow space im going to be using.

It depends on the method used to feminize the seeds. Proper fem technique is a chemical process that minimizes the occurance of hermaphrodites in the offspring. Poor technique (i.e. letting stressed plants self pollinate) is what results in large numbers of hermaphrodites.

Of the 7 different female seeds I've grown out, 0 have hermied. *knocks on wood*
-------------------- Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?

If the breeder and this is a big "if" does his job right then there is no more risk of hermies with feminized seeds then with normal. The breeders should also test the seeds out to check for any faults.
Greenhouse seeds is more interested in selling bobble heads of its owner Arjin. By far the worst at making feminized seeds is Soma. His seeds are pretty much a guarantee to hermie cause of his methods.
Take cuttings from good mothers and stress them any way and every way you can to try and make them go hermie. Those that don't show any signs of going hermie are the ones you want to use to make your seeds from.

Make up one of those ghetto rubbermaid bins if you want to keep a mother. I have one made up for clones

additional question, in regards to mothers and clones in a small cab, would a simple oscillating fan suffice for ventilation, or would a exhaust fan be necessary. lets just say the lighting is 2 50w fluorescent tubes.

A grow I was watching on ICMAG by cheesey strain GHS Jack Herer flowered for 90days without finish (they claim 8weeks flower) and then hermied.
