the plants will be females ?
also if I make the plants pot bound to keep their size down, i.e. do not give them a too big pot when I transplant them will this keep the size down and keep em more inconspicuous? I have just 2 plants.

well, yea.
feminized seeds mean the plant will be female. thats why they're called "feminized"

There is a slight chance they will hermie or be male, but I really stress the word "slight". Its not completely unheard of, but of the 50+ fem seeds I have popped in the last few years, I've never had a single one fuck me over.
Except one from G-13 seeds that hermied...but I have a big gripe with them anyway.
Ordering from a reputable breeder will GREATLY reduce your chances of this.

I dunno, I don't like to speak ill on anything but I just really dislike what I've grown from them. I think I did the Purple Haze and the uhhhh NL Auto? And maybe Sour Kush or something. I was excited about Sour Kush and it never popped.
The NL Auto wasn't very bad, but wasn't very great. Its an auto so I chalked it up to that (not that I don't like autos, just that I feel there aren't many great ones available).
The purple haze fucked me all around from the start. It burned super ridiculously easy so I kept having to mix it a completely different jug from the other 4 strains I had going. I could have lived with that. But then after flush after flush it just didn't recover. I've had plants worse that recovered no problem. And it was supposed to be an 8 weeker. I know plants don't always go what they say, but I think that was going on 14 weeks or some shit. And never showed any hint of purple.
Thats just my experience though.

I don't know your experience haha. You said ordering seeds for the first time, so I'm gonna assume a newish grower?
I'd recommend any Northern Lights or Kush plant. Where are you looking to order seeds from? Dr. Chronic has a strain called "Troublemaker" I had quite a bit of success with early on in my grow life.
I also had a lot of luck with Serious Seeds' Chronic and TH Seeds Burmese Kush. I've read a lot of negatives about these two, but I might have just had a nice pheno.
If you want a sativa, I'm not the guy to ask because I loves me some indica.

I was recommende Wappa for first time from Paradise seeds, all seeds planted germinated and grow nice in a basic high quality peat based compost outside. Thanks for the clarification. As a complete newb I did not know if feminized meant a 35pct better chance or 97pct better chance. So looks like I am odds on : ) thx. So far so good I was explained that this is a variety of Indica whch is not immensely fussy and has few problems encountered for inexperienced.

It's sometimes not about what's the most effective way to get a good plant, but how to get a plant at all... In many European Countries seeds are legal, while all living plant material isn't. So we have the choice of either selecting ourselves which requires a lot off room sometimes or go with feminized (or don't grow at all.).

I was under the impression that as long as it didn't have something stupid like an invoice in the package, you could claim ignorance. "WTF, I DIDN'T ORDER THESE!?"...besides, the gubernmint has a lot more on their plate than you ordering $40 worth of seeds. They're after the multi-million dollar guys. And meth labs.
