Hi all, I'm having a weird issue with my Res, I use Lucas Formula (GH Micro & Bloom) and have a 55 gal res. that usually will have a swing in PH and TDS, as the PH rises from the plants taking up water+nutrients, usually the TDS will lower, but I just got a new RO upgrade for my Hydrologic SmallBoy and when I added the nutes PH went REAL low (4.4). As a result had to find a quick substitution for PH Up, so I used Baking soda and it worked really well brought my PH up to about 5.6-.7 (a little too high I know), but now that the system has been running for about a week (keeping close attention to my readings to look for that natural swing) I've noticed that as the TDS is going down so is the PH which is unusual. I know that when you get root rot PH and TDS will lower at the same time due to the rotting material turning the solution acidic, I hope this isn't the case, I use a home made venturi for aeration in my res and it keeps it better than airstones, haven't had a problem so far at least. Does anyone know whats up? I'm in So Cal and during the day right now the temps get around 85 (for only around 2-3hrs), and res temps are usually around 75, wish it was a little lower but can't afford a $300 chiller.
