How do you adjust ppm? Is EC the same thing as ppm. And how often does pH fluctuate or does environment also affect it?

If ppm is to high add water to lower it. If it's to lower add feed to raise it. As for the ph question, I'm not able to help. Lucky for me my ph stays stable between res changes.

it really depends on whats causing high ppm--sometimes IT is the water! my out of the tap PPM here is 570+ RO water is best for adjusting high PPM, but there are times when you have to dump what you have and start over. you would have to be the judge of that.
pH can be adjusted with simple pH Up or pH Down. This can be gotten from pet stores or pool supply and goes a long ways. most RO water is well-balanced in pH.

Before worrying about that, check the ppm of your tap water. R/O water is only needed if your water ppm is greater than 250.
