I just feel like the bud got way to fluffy and feels to dry, the only thing is these nugs currently drying/curing were from the top of the plant where the nugs were getting burnt from the light. So i think this could play a factor. I've been drying these for 3 almost 4 days now, and the bud is dry as hell, but the stems are still bending like nothing.
Wrong ways: 1. Don't put a fan directly on the bud, this will make it too dry too fast
2. Don't put it someplace with a lot of humidity/moisture because this can promote mold growth.
If you didn't do these two things then you should be good. The stem has more water in it than the buds, so it will take longer for that to dry. That is why they say to check the stem not the bud to see if it is done drying...

I'm not sure anyone touched on this cause I'm too drunk to read all the post's but dryer is ALWAYS better than not dry enough(mold). If you think you let some buds go for too long and they got too dry let them sit in the jars for a little longer than normal and they should cure out nicely to a sexy smoke, Congrats on the first harvest!

I may do that, but I usually hold on to these types of things because I know at some point it will get used.

Hey guys, so another question came to me when i opened the jars today. I'm not really noticing a change in the smell or anything, i have not tested it smoking because i'm saving that for 420. How long exactly though must i cure for until i can notice a difference. I'm pretty sure tomorrow will be the 5th day curing, is that enough time to cure?

nope, curing takes a decent amount of time. You can kind of think of it like a wine aging. It's a slow, gradual, process. Kind of sucks if you only harvest a small amount because you usually burn through your stash before it really starts to get good.

The purpose to drying and curing your buds in the dark is because light causes photosythisis in plants. So even though you have chopped it down and removed it from its roots it will still continue to use those nutrients that are still trapped in the remaing leafs and stems.... The idea behind curing it to take out the green flavor. So if you take away the light the plant can't continue to grow and the clorophyl(sp) will dissapate on its own leaving you with a smoother smoke and better over all flavor. So in theroy the longer you cure the better smoke you will have. I am sure there is a point in which it is no longer curing and just being contained. I am not sure if that is weeks or months. I hope this helps.
