Wrong ways: 1. Don't put a fan directly on the bud, this will make it too dry too fast
2. Don't put it someplace with a lot of humidity/moisture because this can promote mold growth.
If you didn't do these two things then you should be good. The stem has more water in it than the buds, so it will take longer for that to dry. That is why they say to check the stem not the bud to see if it is done drying...
