curing with food-grade plastic?
    #440212 - 06/30/10 10:31 PM (14 years, 5 months ago)

does food worthy plastic affect the cure negatively?
would glass make a big difference?
is clear hard plastic better/worse than soft cloudy plastic?

thanks for any input :jah:

I just use freezer bags. Sometimes I pick the choice buds to be cured in mason jars just because.

I don't think you could tell the difference if your life depended on it. I've also used a cardboard box with a bunch of vapor barrier plastic for packing insulation in which def isn't foodgrade to wrap the buds up in. This worked well too. Just need to be sure to tumble the buds or they will quiet possibly rot.

i'm not gonna use 15 quart jars to cure again...
i have before, major pita for my rsi
i'm gonna use a hygrometer to cure, not gonna buy 15 hygrometers

i need something large enough to cure the harvest, and clear enough to see hygrometer readings
i went to a kitchen store and the biggest jar they have is 1/2 gallon, still too small

i've never heard of curing in a plastic bag lol, how does the cure compare with a glass cure?

thanks for the info guys

In my opinion there's no difference. Task was not effected at all, many weed scores come in plastic bags so this doesn't surprise me.

i cured in a ziplock container and i will never do that again.
maybe it was in my head, but i could taste it every time i smoked.
not to mention you cant get as tight a seal that you could with mason jars. and they make 1 gallon btw if that makes a difference.
maybe cure in a fish tank with a plastic and tape cover.

Back the tape up.  I need it again!

Do you have a hobby/craft store near you (like hobby lobby)?  If you do, go check it out, the one by my house had a ton of glass jars in all sizes.
