bonsai mother and cfl's

i have a 1.5x2' trunk i have converted into a box for an attempt at a bonsai mother, that i may exctract clones from.
it has 2x 24 actual watt CFL's that are in the blue spectrum and 1 42 actual watt CFL in the red spectrum for a total of about 5k lumens. as long as i keep the plant close to the light, will that be enough light for a healthy bonsai mother?
also i know this is not ideal for any othr situation, but keep in mind im not trying to ever flower it

I would say yes it should be fine. Especially if you aren't planning on flowering it. Just watch your feeding regimen because with that little bit of light as the plant gets older it may start to use much less nutrients because of the low light levels. And don't forget to trim the roots now and again.

That's a bad idea, why would you want to starve your mom?

i was under the impression, since it's a bonsai, you don't need to give it tons of nutes, just enough to keep it healthy and sustain its size.
but i dont know much.

Now just to clarify, I never said to starve the mother. I was just saying to watch the regimen because with that little of light as the plant ages may start to get burnt if using too much fert.

i just realized something.
i used 1 liter bottles cut in half for my starting pots.
they are transparent
i can see the root system
i know light causes algea when dealing with hydro
is this a problem with a soil grow?
edit: did some research and found that of course, light is bad for your roots.
can i cover th outside of the container in electrical tape, or will light still reflect down the side of the container on the plastic between th dirt and the tape?
should i just repot them? is that bad for them at this stage? they arent even on their third set of true leaves

Well, it's prolly not gonna cause algae. But roots do not like light. I would cover the bottles some how.

You should be fine with electrical tape if you dont want to repot at this point.
I don't think the roots are as sensitive as say mushrooms pinning because of side lighting.

I thought that bonsai mothers do fine under florescent tubes. 90+ watts should be more than enough to pull some clones off of.

i hope so. this will be my first rodeo, so im trying to do everything slowly and right and work my way up rather than jumping in with a whole room full.
