I just bought a 26 watt 1700 lumen 5300k CFL, was wondering if that's sufficent for vegging?

What's with the cfl's? You're never gonna get rock solid buds without HID. Believe me it's worth the investment if you're serious.

"and take me disappearing, through the smoke rings of my mind,
down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
the haunted frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
far from the twisted reach, of crazy sorrow.
yes the dance, beneath the diamond sky, with one hand waving free,
silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
with all memory and fate, driven deep beneath the waves,
let me forget about today, until tomorrow."~bob dylan

And FUCK YOU if you want to be an arrogant prick that can't swallow the answer he doesn't want. Sorry if you can't handle the facts. Sounds like you need to find better sites.

Congrats on the rating. (and probably ratings )

First post says a(meaning 1), and then later you make it sound like more. Several of these lights would be sufficient for seedlings, clones, and vegging. but you get back what you put in. For flowering its fine for ditch to mid grade quality, lanky plants with a low yield, but under no circumstance is 1 light that size enough of anything but a waste of time. If people are telling you a single 26w light is enough for seed through harvest they're idiots.

my example of a plant growing under decent lighting, 430w Son Argo 5 weeks under flowering.

ive seen many successfull grows with cfls. currently ive got 2 64w(not sur if its right lol. their 300w eq., 4 24w(150w eq) and 2 100w eq bulbs. they would work for vegging for 4 plants until fruiting then u would need more. ive got 1 64 and 3 24w bulbs vegging one plant right now. it works great, grows good. as for rock hard buds. u might not get pefect rock hard. but with enough cfls, bud hardener nutes and bud growth nutes u could get some nice dank buds. if you keep as many cfls as close as possible without burning the buds when fruting it can help tighten up the fruits. but hps works much better. imo, cfls are for private stash and hps is for larger/bulk stash. but yes, cfls do work for seedlings and vegging.

lol and dont be a dumb fuck. u asked if one would work, the awnser is no. if u had enough then yes. re-read ur shit before u post.

By itself, it won't do much.  You need roughly 3,000 lumens per square foot for good growth.  So with many CFL's you could do okay.  The 48" long fluoro shop lights are also a good choice:thumbup:  Personally, I'de choose those over CFLs, but if you go that route you'll have to by the housings that go with them.  If your dead set on CFL's though, your going to need quite a few to do decently, depending on how large your area is.  Fluoros will work fine for seedlings, clones, and vegative growth, however for flowering there's better choices but they'll definitly produce buds...just more airy and fluffier.

He didn't say CFLs won't work, but as you said you have a single CFL...yeah a single CFL isn't going to do anything but keep the plant on the brink of life.  So it's not 'wrong info' by any means.
