 When to plant outdoor?

I'm in NY...
I have some autoflowers I'd like to start and put outside. I know with those I can wait a little longer (because their growing season is so short) but maybe I could do 2 grows over the summer?
Anyway, I'd like to start them inside a few weeks in advance so they can be established a little before I put them outside. Since they stay so small, I'm just going to put them right on the side of my house...fuck it.
I'd also maybe like to get seeds from them...I'm not sure how to go about that.

i had lowryders indoors over the winter i put like 10 seeds in a bucket and two germinated. after the grow i dumped the dirt outside recently during some outside cleaning i noticed those other seeds have now germinated i know 100% they are ow ryders
i live in NY and my auto flowering plants germinated on there own and were on there first set of leaves by March 20th.

I heard from a pretty experienced dude that he starts his INSIDE on 4/20 (again, for the novelty) and moves them outdoors on Memorial Day.
Sounds like a plan to me :]

This sounds like an excellent rule of thumb to me.
I will have to adopt this.
Another good guide as to when to plant outdoors is using the lunar cycle.
Plant outdoors in the new moon to first quarter moon.
The first quarter begins with no visible moon moving into a new moon, marked by a small cresent.
Moisture is at it's peak, so this generally a fertile time, good to take cuttings and to plant. Growth of the roots and leaves are in balance.
Harvest on the full moon or "Harvest Moon"

i just wanted to add that one lowrder that sprouted outside on 3/2o and lived is still alive and kicking, it has lived threw at least 2 frost and one night where water froze.

I've decided to start mine inside soon, and keep them in here for a month or so until they are big enough for me to put out.
I tossed some bagseed outside though. Maybe that will grow

I never put anything outside until May 15th but I'm a little north of you guys.
If starting indoors try to remember that you will need to harden off your plants when you want to move them outside because even a plant grown on the inside windowsill will get sunburn from full UV light and you risk shocking or killing them.
The life cycle on the auto-flowering varieties is already so short you don't need to rush them. As for getting them to seed, you will have to hope you get a male in there and don't kill it, you need it to pollinate the females so they can produce seeds.
