Brilliant then the roommate would just think them shitty weeds... probably pull them to let the grass (an actual weed) grow.

what does that even mean, smoke??
any way, to the op: it depends on where you live. in my neck of the woods, i could plop them out now if i wanted to, but im gonna wait about a month, just so i dont mess them up too bad (also, im going to wait a little longer to move the more sativa dominant plants)

Shitty weeds as in the every day run of the mill weeds... My edit didn't seem to go throw as well as I was trying to be funny and asked the OP where he leaved... First off to get a good reference to weather like you and also to make a jk about me showing up to get the plant. Shit got F'ed up somewhere and I'm drunk so it's a valid excuse...

You can move them outside if you cover them up when below freezing or frost warning with plastic till mid april when last frost hits.

mid-april? i didn't see where he mentioned his location...
you can safely move them outside after your last frost. before that, and you risk losing them to a freeze. look up some last frost dates for your place, and add a week or two onto that just to be safe.

Frost will hurt weed just like any other plant. As long as plastic is over though it will be alright if temps are over freezing in the day in your area. Mid april is the last frost day for the northern part of the nation.
They will not flower prematurely.

MJ can survive some light frosts when it is full established and hardy in the fall, not when it's a small plant or seedling in the spring.

Actually, young plants and seedlings are more resistant to frost than mature ones. For example, I had a outdoor shed grow room one year that got broke into through the window in the middle of the winter. The robber only stole a few things and left all my veging plants. The freezing cold air that came in killed all my adult plants but my starts and under a month plants were unharmed.

are you sure they weren't just located in different spots in the shed, so that the large plants got a full blast of freezing air whereas the little guys were somehow protected? like raised up from ground level or something?

Yep, the younger stuff was as close as the mature stuff. Young plants are engineered to survive cold snaps as many time seedlings naturally germinate in the early spring before last frosts when temps get up in the 40-50's in the day. Ed Rosenthal has commented on this.

In the shed were these bigger plants in pots,Budzilla? could be that excessive root freezing was the culprit to their death.

Yes they were in pots, but pots would help protect against freezing. Everything was on the floor as well.
