Need a timer that can handel 2, 1000 watt lights. 6 inch Vortex and 4 small fans in grow room.
It wouldn't for it to handel a little for when I go hydro.
Would this one do it? http://www.midwesthydroponics.com/timestat-timer.html
Any suggestions?

it says it can take 15A @ 110v and two of those lights is way more than that, Im sure theres a better one you can get made for two 1000s

I got trying to be cheap.
How many amps would I need. A little overkill would not hurt.
http://www.midwesthydroponics.com/30-amp-timer-box.html How do you set the timer?
The ballast will also run on 240.
This would also leave room for furture expansion.
I don't know to much about elect. Was hopping I would not have to run 220 to the room.

*edited link, timer is the same as RVF's*
It may not be ideal, but you could buy two of these smaller timers, have one run a light and the vortex, the other runs the other light and your four fans. Just hook a power strip up to the one with the four fans and have the timer control the strip.
Right now I run my 600 watt, 4 inch 256 cfm inline fan, 4 inch 180 cfm squirrel cage fan, and a small 6 inch oscillating fan on one of those timers. Love it, been using it for almost 3-4 years now.

My problem: Got a digital timer from Walmart($15). Have done 3 grows with it. It ran, on a splitter, 2 small fans and 1000 watt light. When setting up to run on clone table I notice heat marks on the plastic from the other grows.
Not good. Need no fires.
Want to have 2 - 1000 watt lights air cooled. With 6 inch Vortex fan. 1 fan for air circulation.

You just need to pay attention to the amperage load that your timer can handle. I like to make sure that I never hit the actual amp load that it is rated to handle. Like if it's rated for 15 amps I never load to more than 14 at the very most. It's a good safety precaution.

Is it a "Heavy Duty" timer or just a regular appliance timer?

LOL! That's my local hydro shop!!!
Anyways that's pretty hardcore, I don't think you need one that intense but like you said overkill won't hurt.
