I love these little guys. Easy to grow, and they look pretty cool too! I started two new plants from seed a few weeks ago, and have quite a few more seeds I aim to get goin' here pretty soon. Any peppers springin' up in your garden?

just for fun
a couple weeks ago when i cut up a red bell from stop and shop, i saved the seeds and dried them, then threw them in some MGMC in some extra trays that were lying around in the garden.
after a few rain storms:

these are the habanero seedlings i was talking about earlier in the thread. they've really started to take off in new soil.

these are two yellow bell plants that are sending out tons of flowers. does anyone have experience with bell peppers? i'm assuming i have to remove most to let the best 4-5 grow on each plant.

here's a little plot with several varieties that i don't remember

another plot. all those berries on the ground are from the mulberry tree overhead.

this is my roomate's vietnamese chili plant. i think it is 5+ years old.

when all the chilis turn dark red the plant looks awesome

and a bunch of new seedlings for when i get bored

update on my habaneros. i've grown these from seed, and i've been training the one on the right into a tall tree shape, and the one on the left into a little bush. up until a week ago i've been picking off the flowers to get then to continue growing w/o spending energy on flowering. i'm letting them go full force now, i want to see how many peppers i can get on each plant.

Thanks for keeping up and sharing your pictures Yrat!
Here's a long overdue update on those pepper plants I started so many moons ago. Some good news, some not so good...
I'll start with the beautiful Bolivian Rainbow. The peppers begin with a small flash of green but quickly turn purple.

Next stop they begin to lighten and transform to an orange hue.

At this point the peppers start to deepen in color again, finishing a deep bright red.

Some creatures make this colorful foilage their home.

Some not so benign creatures (aphids) unfortunately made my Sweet Crimson plant their home

Also unfortunately, some of my other guys got hit with this nastyness. Not sure what it is (would love to know!); couldn't find any evidence of bugs on the plant when this happened.
A nutrient problem, perhaps?

But in the end, the plant has persevered to bloom again and again!

You may also remember the Hot Lemon Pepper I had started. Here are her delicate flowers.

Here she is all grown up:

Wouldn't want to forget about the Sweet Crimson. Ultimately, some strong winds knocked this one down, snapping its main stem.

At least I managed to get a taste of it first! (and I still have some seeds )

And last but certainly not least, the Thai Sun Pepper. This guy pumps out an unbelievable amount of tiny potent peppers. Beginning green and finishing red.

Here's a small heap of a haul, mixed green and red jalapenos along with some Thai Sun's.

I love peppers!
