Is there any way to prevent this mold from contaminating your buds? Are all plants susceptible to bud rot or just ones that are in certain environmental conditions? Any info would be appreciated.

This may sound way to simple but keep the humidity down, keep the airflow going threw the plants and keep the temps in the right range and you'll be fine.

If you are planting outdoor, you'll need to pay attention to the rain during the last 3 weeks of flowering. In some cases its best to take them early.
