I love the idea of growing peyote, just the amount of patents you have to have is horrid. I would so kill mine trying to make it grow faster.

let's say, living in a climate such as florida?
If it's really hot and not very humid, and the plant is a large well rooted Lophophora "Peyote" than it can take weekly waters, it will also flower and fruit like mad...
But if its cool or the plants are taken out of direct sunlight, or the plants are small or not well rooted they need to be water very infrequently. During the winter(if it's cold) you should not water them at all...

Basically to grow cacti you 1) put them in shitty soil 2) dont water them 3) treat them like shit
lol
it's true if you're looking for higher alkaloid %
if you're not then saturate them every time the soil gets completely dry.

how much mescaline can you produce say, for instance 1 san pedro or 1 peyote cacti?
the average span of maturity for san pedo is 3+ years and peyote is six? am I close?

peyote can mature in ~2yrs if grafted
and not very much mescaline from peyote I hear you need to eat several (5-10 buttons) to get a desired effect.

to my understanding peyote is stronger per size than san pedro and mescaline comes from these cactii through acid extractions either hydrochloride, sulfite, or citric type acids and mescaline sulfate is 11% heavier than mescaline hydrochloride meaning you need 11% MORE to get the same desired effect.
Mescaline is a psychadelic found in these cactii
and how does thos peyote in 2 years works? any teks on it?

you graph the peyote onto a root stock so it matures faster by having a more developed or advanced root system.
peyote is far stronger than the trich species but it grows much slower and smaller.

All those lophs(and several more I have yet to photograph) get watered when the soil drys out (6-10 days). Only light waterings in the winter. Not all cacti can be treated this way during the winter. There is lots of good advice on cacti to be found in the ethnobotanical garden forum at shroomery.org. I didn't even know you guys were talking about cacti over here. I guess I have some catching up to do
But yeah good grafting guides there.
