alright guys, and gals, heres the run down. ill try to get all pics and questions into this one post. please read the whole thing. theres many questions.
I have these cacti on my property.
-a large Golden Torch:
-a smaller Golden Torch(i think):
-and an unknown which needs ID:
the first large one is done flowering now, and has fruits where the flowers were. are they ready to pick? or should i wait?
the other two(the smaller golden and the unknown, i took cuttings of. around the 2nd or 3rd of July. the first two pictures are the day after. and the second two are from today 7/6/08:
what are some signs that will let me know when these cuttings are ready to plant? and how should i go about planting them? like soil saturation, rooting hormone, etc.?
-ok those are my adults and cuttings-
now to my babies.
i have about 50+ loph and tricocereus seedlings.
wi.,di.,decepiens,fr., and tr. bridgesii
theyre still sprouting, and have been since a few days ago. the decepiens are incredible, EVERY single one sprouted!!!
my question with these, is where do i go from here?
i have about 25 of them in 3 seperate pots w/saran wrap. with plenty of leg room. and then the other 25 or so in a bigger humidity dome type thing, also with way more leg room than is needed.
they are still VERY VERY young, so i know i shouldn start hardening them yet, but i just need to know for SURE what to do with them. i have no grafting stocks.
Mahalo in advance

I'm PREMA banned from the shroomery, so don't feel bad!
I'll make it easy for you... Look up Ariocarpus, Aztekium, Turbinicarpus and Strombocactus.
Try the Corroboree, The Nook, Botanical Swap, Spirit Plants, or Edot...

right on man, ill check those out soon.
i just dont feel like joining a new forum for these simple questions.
i started to look at them on my luunch break, but my internet went out.
so if you could answer(anyone) those couple questions, thatd be awesome
btw, i thought of ANOTHER QUESTION:
on my cuttings, when i do pot them, there will be numerous spines in the medium, is this ok?

they go right with the pix lazy ass
but for you sir, since your the only one helping.
but you may have to scroll up and view the pics with them.
1.are the fruits on this big golden torch ready to pick? and get seeds from?
2.the third cacti down needs ID
3.on 7/6/08 i asked if my cuttings were ready to pot. no one came to me on that so i potted them on the 8th. do you think 6days was adequate amount of time to let them callus?
4.what do i do with all my cacti sprouts now? about 50. if you know a good link that deals with outdoors cacti from seedling thatd be cool too
thanks Teotz

I'd wait until the seed pod is about to bust or fall off, or at least until it's all shrivled and dry...

I don't think that's trichocereus, but it's REALLY hard to tell on that one... may be Pachycereus but I think it's Stenocereus.

I normally wait like 2 weeks, but don't water it for a long time...

What the hell do you mean? You let them grow? What are you concerned about? They are outdoors? All year?

outside all year,
house is colder than outside. winter gets a bit chilly
green house kicks ass. i think these sprouts love the cold nights.
hey on two of the cuttings i moistened the end a bit to sprinkle on some rooting powder. bad move?
