Some good pictures, and some nice looking cuttings!
The pictures just made it clear that my best friend has one of these growing next to his house. Gonna have to go ask him for a cutting. You know how fast they grow from this stage? I have planted cacti in the past from seed and they seemed to take forever to grow any size.

Edit: update...
Here they are, planted and rooting...
I had a diffusa that wasn't doing well...My first graft....here's the tops of that grafting cacti...
And the other 4....Note the cacti garden in backround-right...
