i found some cheap hps and mh bulbs at my local lowes...and i looked for ballasts but they didnt seem to have any. they had fixtures that the guy said something about photosize or some word..idk, but the fixtures said 100 watt and i was looking at getting at least 450 watt bulbs.
if they dont have ballasts...am i going to have to order them?

any hydroshop should carry a wide range of ballasts, bulbs, reflectors and all sorts of other shit you need.
I unno where you live but my small city has a couple dozen hydro shops at least.

Yea, unfortunately Home Depot and Lowes don't often carry high wattage HPS ballasts. Hydro shops usually inflate the price quite a bit so I would look towards the web. You can find great deals for all sorts of ballasts. I got my digital 400w for 120$.
