I'm on 18/6 right now would it stress my plants to switch to a 24/7?
and here are the nutes I'm using right now shouldn't it be higher in nitrogen or less high in k20 or whatever?

No it shouldn't stress them at all, they are in veg mode and after you change your light schedule they will still be in veg mode.
Also your veg nutes look fine to me.

Plants will mature in less time due to the fact that they are getting more light to photosynthesize, not to mention that they will stretch less, since they are continuously getting more of the light they need, which encourages better yield.

i know why ppl use 24.
but why switch?
its not THAT much more beneficial, and though its not likely going to make it happen, its just one more thing that could possibly stress the plant.

Its 33% more beneficial, when you think about it. That's pretty substantial. I really don't think increasing the amount of light is going to stress the plants, as long as they get enough to not think its time to alter their processes to begin flowering. I would think that the amount of light they receive during vegetative growth in the wild continues to increase until the middle of summer, as well, even if it would be a more gradual change. I think the benefits of their receiving more light more than outweigh the slim chance that the change would stress them in any way.

yeah its like a minute a day
but i agree with you, it wont stress it, and 33% IS definately worth it.
OP how much longer till you were going to switch to flower? i guess this is kinda what i was gettin at.

Wow, when you said you transplanted, you really meant it.
Judging by those pictures (didn't realize there was that many! ), I'd still think its going to be a few weeks before you'd be wanting to switch them over, at least two. Those bigger ones I don't remember seeing in the other thread, which is why my "a good month" statement would seem a little off. I don't see why its that funny though, there's definitely a couple weeks left there.
What strain are you running (can't remember)?

Just some seeds out of a decent sack.. I ordered some widow, rhino and purple power from nirvana seeds but they basically just stole my money.. never sent shit. So I sent an email asking for a refund still no response.
I'm hoping to switch them over by October they need to be a good foot to get a decent yield right? Most of them are still pretty small.. there are currently 24 plants, hopefully I'll get at least half of that in females, which is why I planted so many if I would have planted say 12 then I could get really shafted when I found out what sex they are.

So yeah I'm a little concerned the plants might turn male or hermy.. within the first week or two of growth I made the mistake of giving the plants nutes every time I watered them.. and the lights were too close as well and they showed signs of over fertilization and heat stress. The plants seem to be doing fine now but would the stress so early on cause them to turn male or hermaphrodite?
edit: also I'm running on 24/7 right now which some would say could stress the plant.. when I finally switch to 12/12 should I make it a gradual process slowly introducing the dark period? I'm a little worried going from 24/0 to 12/12 might mess things up.

you can do a gradual like mother nature does, but switching directly to 12/12 wont hurt. peeps been doing it for YEAAAARS.
and all the things you did to your plant can cause stress which can cause it to flake, but its not to say it WILL or WONT.
just be a good parent for the rest of their lives.

I've heard of an increase of hermies when such a drastic increase of dark period is introduced.. I'm doing some reading at the moment on 24/0 vs 18/6 and many suggest dark periods increase hormone production and gives the plant a break from the constant cell division. I'm seriously considering switching back to 18/6 I really am such a noob I can't decide which though.

It can stress them out a bit, but I really wouldn't worry about your plants going hermie. We recently made the switch from 24/0 to 12/12 and they handled it just fine, and two of them were feminized, sativa dominant strains, which would be more likely than anything to go hermie from stress. Of course, there is nothing saying you couldn't bump a couple hours off every couple days.

I really wouldn't worry about it - there's absolutely no substantive basis that plants benefit more from 18/6 than 24/0. The needing a break from constant cell division argument is complete hogwash - the plants don't stop cell division during the dark period; in fact, they actually grow more as they stretch to find the light that they are no longer receiving (stretching isn't the kind of growth you want). The only difference is that they won't be photosynthesizing during the dark period, and there is nothing to suggest that they are stressed from constant photosynthesis. All it means is that they are producing more energy to grow - they'll mature faster and you'll have shorter distance between internodes.

What are you talking about? I had seen the pictures in the other thread and gave my opinion on the matter. He specifically stated that he wasn't sure, but it still seemed like awhile. Does it bother you that people would discuss what has been presented to discuss in a thread?

Just to be cautious I introduced a 2 hour dark period on the timer last night.. I will slowly be adding more time as the weeks progress..
I appreciate all the help though everybody.
