Some dried salvia leaves in a coffee filter:
I should have used a coffee grinder instead of manual crushing. And drying with DampRid overnight will reduce the amount of water to evap later.
Cooling jacket water recirculates with submergeable pump. Freezer gel packs can be added if needed:
First cycle, the liquid is quite dark.
Complete setup in action.
Alcohol is boiling, water is just hot.
Condensation on outside of condenser.
Before: After:
Reconfigure for distillation, remove excess solvent:
Looks black in the Petri dish, but it's actually green.
Here's the final product:
Wash up, let equipment dry. Acetone can be used to remove residue in flask:
Bioassay: I don't care for salvia much. If anybody wants to try this stuff out, PM me.

so is that a recombination of the extract and some plant matter? it's hard to tell what that black stuff is in the pic.
did you weigh the before and after to get a general strength idea?

Cool, you're the first person I've seen use a Soxhlet set-up for their extraction (from here/other site).
What do you do with the final product?

I put a little ground leaf in the bottom of the dish, but not nearly enough to soak it all up. I started with about 10 grams of material, and there's a gram or two of extract.
This was just a practice run to see how it would all work- now that I know how, I could do a better job of it.

It's like salvia hash oil. You could scoop it up and smoke it. (On top of some leaf maybe). Or eat it. Plug it, if you're into that.

So... nobody wants free salvia extract? Just pay postage, and file a trip report.

Ooops, sorry- I sent it out to another member.
But if it works, I'll extract the rest and send it to you.
