Salvia Divinorum - Legal Status Australia?

Hi guys. I was just wondering what the legal status of Sally in Australia was. I heard that in some states of Aus it was prohibited but in others it was not.
Does anyone know where I can read up on the laws?

Welcome! Glad to see another Aussie joining the ranks.
Salvia has the same status as buds in all states, illegal all round. But more often than not unless you're carrying more than a few grams or something the cops will just take it and either let you go or fine you.

Thanks for the reply. So if I were to get a cutting mailed to me from overseas, The worst they could do is take it off me or fine me? But would it go on record? Say I was studying to become a teacher. I've never been caught with anything before, but would that effect my career plans?

I was caught growing 2 cannabis plants/ had a 400W growlight/room and a bunch of paraphernalia and only got a diversion (which means no charges were filed and I have no record at all) so one Salvia plant would be ok (but still not legal)
if you were caught and charged with an offense I'm pretty sure that will hinder your ability to become a teacher, but if you're caught and only get a divertion then you are the only person who would know and it would play no further part in your life, its up to you on making the risk.
Personally I would never import a live cutting from overseas. You're just asking for trouble, especially when they are around in Aus you just gotta know where to look. Which state are you in?

NSW Sydney. I've been looking on and off for a few years now in Aus and have had no luck.
