Hello,
I know that in order for plants to grow they need a special type of dirt to meet their needs. Is this the same for Marijuana? If so, does anyone know which dirt I should get?

There are many ways to go about this, the easiest way is going to be finding a local hydro or feed store with fox farm ocean forest, roots organic, or a more locally sourced organic soil meant for all purpose organic gardening. Here in Michigan I know a particular cannabis microbusiness that uses a custom organic soil mix from Morgan Composting, who makes Dairy Doo products.
If you want to get more involved, you can create your own custom soil mix from peat, compost, and an aeration component such as pumice or perlite, and amend it as needed based on soil tests. For beginners it is better to eliminate the variables of a homemade mix, and just go with a reputable bagged mix such as ffof cut with 25% perlite.
You can also go the topsoil route, and just grow in regular old dirt from outside. Your mileage will vary based on where the dirt came from and what you add to it, but this can work pretty well for filling garden beds.

Believe it or not Miracle Grow potting soil works great, I used it primarily for about 8 years and work wonderfully.
