So... I have a seedling that is around 2 weeks old and I grew it from bag-seed.
It got me thinking, is there a way to determine the sex of marijuana plant in the very early stages, by examining a small leaf sample under a microscope?
I don't own a microscope and I don't know a whole lot about microbiology but I couldn't find anything about this when I googled it..
I want to do an experiment but that would require a microscope and I don't have one... I'm more of a chemistry guy myself.
Anyway, here is my hypothesis:
Certain areas of both male and female plants will be identical and indistinguishable in cell-structure... However, I believe it's possible that certain area of the plant will have differing cell structures, specifically at the nodes and pistils.
So my question is: Can a microscope identify the sex of a plant?
I think it should be able to but I'm not sure and I don't own a microscope.
The main difference between the female plant and male other then the flower structure is the ethylene hormone. Only the female plant can produce it so if you can find it in a seedling then you can find your female. The next way is to make feminized seeds that why you know the sex even before the seed is harvested.

Yeah I think they can do it. I'm not one of those people that think a seed takes a few weeks before it can be sexed or has a sex so to say cause if that was so I couldn't make feminized seeds.
