I started some plants in March in 4-6 in ch starter pots and let them go about a month and a half.They looked fine and I was going g to sex them in those pots.I had assumed they would be big enough.I left for a week and when I got back they were very sickly,dropping leaves and turning red on the stems.I planted them in the ground and now they are good and healthy.
My question is when do any of you think they are going to show sex? They have not shown yet and they are about 2.5 feet tall.
I would also like to ask if they may have been stunted.I do see the beginnings of a sex but it will not show me exactly yet.It has been 5 months,and shouldn't they have shown by now?

And yes you probly stressed them if they were all wilted. Just keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best!

I know what to look for,I just think it is taking a long time.
I found three females today.I think it just took longer because of the stress.I hope they will all show by next week.

What does that mean you left them for a week? And how are you sexing them?
They don't just flower automatically unless they are an auto flowering strain.
When the sun light hours begin to decrease it will then trigger the flowering process but thats not till after summer solstice. Until then they just green up.

I went out of town for a week and left them in the 4" pots.They are outside and in the ground doing very well now and I have spotted four females.They are waist high and I just topped them once on the main stalk.
It is taking a long time for me to spot the males.I can not tell until I see the 2 hairs.If there are no hairs, and a pod is showing does this mean it is male? I know the diff I am just a little impatient.
I can check them every day with no problem.

Typically, males will show first. And if your seeing pods it is more then likely a male. Pictures would be good.

it has always been my experience to get a few more males then females. And ususally they show sex before the females, usually!

I started with 24 ended up with 9 females,some were lost to rabbits,I saw those bastards.All of the them are about waist high now,3 are knee high.Should be a good harvest.I had 3 last year and got 10 oz's of sinsi-buds.Should be triple this time.

Got any full plant or garden pics?
Just keep them males away from your girls or you'll end up with a bunch of seeds.

My plant is getting really big and tall(Outdoor). It is still in veg stage and calyxes are showing in the tops(no pistils yet). Pistils are just now showing in the calyxes on the main stalk.
I was wondering if I could safely top all the branches so the plant will remain fairly short.Would this shock the plant too much?
It looks like it will get about 7-8 feet if I do not top it.

You could also tie the plant over to keep it low to the ground without removing anything.

It actually causes an explosion of growth in most strains. You will see all of the lower branches try to stretch to be the top branch. It is another way to get similar results to a Scrog. And as long as you do it gradually, should take about a week to get the top lower than the other branches, and if done properly(not hard), it is a very low stress training method. Good Luck. And remember not to kill anything until it clearly shows it's sex. Some plants can be deceiving, and pre-flowers are never 100% accurate.

I see the pistils on all of them,I just hope no hermies show.It is from schwaggy dope no name mid.Looks to be sativa dominant.If I did not top it it would probably get about 7-9 feet.
