    #814683 - 06/09/16 01:38 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

my camera is being really stupid right now so I can't take any pics. but I had a s verse case of nitrogen deficiency when I went camping. the plant has recovered really well and has plenty of new leaves and growth. just not sure if I should trim off the damaged leaves.

Always cut off any damage it wastes the plants energy to focus on tryin to repair dead or dying shit.

That's completely untrue.  Plants won't repair leaves.  But they will stuck nutrients out of them.  A good rule of thumb is to let them be until they come off with a gentle pull.

So will she take longer to recover since I trimmed them? There was already new growth by all the leaves I took off

I don't think a little bit of pruning will have a negative effect on the recovery of your plant, although hawksapprentice is correct that if the leaves still have some life in them, they are providers of mobile nutrients for the rest of the plant.  Nevertheless, severely damaged leaves can be more vulnerable to fungus or other infestation, and I would generally choose to remove leaves that have progressed through 50%+ necrosis.

You can trim them but I have found no need too as the leaves will dry and die off with no help from you so personally I would leave them but if you got time on your hands go ahead and go for it
