First time grower concern

Hi everyone, I am brand new to the website. I am a first time grower out of So-Cal. I have been watching my bud grow for the past few weeks now in awe and today I noticed something when I was checking out my plant. I noticed these pods near the base. In my inexperience I can't differentiate between this being a male seed pod, the beginning of flowering, or if it is something completely different. Hope to be showing my face around here quite often, I have already gathered tons of info from here. Cheers! -Quodculus

Just making this thread shares the info, so thanks!
So does that mean flower pods are hairy looking and male plants have actual balls?
Also, welcome to the Growery.

Does this mean it is no longer in a vegetative state but is now flowering? I'd still like to top the plant, however from what I've researched, you shouldn't top it if its flowering.

everyone always called them balls cause alot if the time they hang and look like ball sacks but they are just male flower buds but once they pop it's doom to all your ladies another reason so call them balls lol
I'm not sure I'm old sKool outside farmer so these new techniques and auto flower seeds are all new to me...
I would switch to flower feeding and do one last trim if I was growing outside but there's a lot more time and space growing outside so I'm unsure maybe someonelse has better insight that's a good question

If you see anything like what's in the pics on that 3rd post then take it out or cut off the male section. How many hours light are you giving? Cuz you are definitely into flowering. So if what you have been reading says don't fuck with it i'd leave it be(im on my first grow so still learning, and don't know a whole lot, but I wanna say it can stunt growth if you were to start hacking out too much). But wait for another members opinion.

Definitely starting to flower. (Looks like it's about 2 weeks in, give or take.) Definitely female. Pistils (white hairs in pairs) tell all.
Worst case scenario would be a hermaphrodite, but I see no sign of male (pre)flowers.
