Has anyone ever heard of using gold mylar?
I know NASA uses 24k gold foil to protect against radiation just very curious before I go off buying a grow tent.

Well I have no purpose to use it if there is no difference. But what I'm wondering is if gold vs. White vs. Silver. Could potentially be more effective & or more efficient.

the stuff that works best is reflective
I use this stuff that is supposed to go on windows to keep out the mourning sun
it's titanium grade
it really is only getting light to the lower branches
it's not going to have that amazing of an effect but it's better then nothing

Well if we're going to get down to it, painting your walls flat white, or using panda film is the best way to go. Mylar creates hot spots of light. I highly recommend not using it

Living in the land of know it all growers, I kind of go by the philosophy of "meet your plants' needs first, don't worry too much about the rest"
Got some friends that have cranked out chronic for a few years and they use Mylar. They aren't the best growers but they damn sure aren't the worst. I don't really think it matters that much just white or reflective.
What matters is food, water, twmperature, airflow, and humidity. Fuck trying to find 24 carrot gold Mylar gahaha. Just use white paint and then buy the 24 carrot gold with all the money you made. There are dozens of ways to do things. Some work better for some people than others.

the one good point of mylar was that it blocks out whatever is behind it due to it's solid nature and heat buffing properties
so i mean like if you had a large scale op somewhere it was illegal then it would be neccesary, but even then only to keep out the bugs

No it doesnt. Mylar is usually 1 or 2 mils thick and seriously sucks dick. Permaflect is the next upgrade as it is thicker around 5 mil and has a texture to diffuse light and decrease hot spots. The highest quality one is the IR block which is really thick, and really expensive. Like a 25' roll is around 80 bucks and its specifically called IR block, not mylar. You can find it at home depot or some grow shops.
Its the same thing that heavy duty vehicle windshield covers are made of to keep your car from getting hot while parked.
Also, high quality tents like the gorilla grow tents have IR block built in to them but in the ceiling only because thats where its needed most. Helicopters dont come at you from the ground and people get overly paranoid about police using FLIR.

Some fgt lil army irag vet pussy bitch cried when he got pulled over with a quarter oz. He thought by bringing me down with him hed get off easier but they locked him up anyways. I got raided and had like an oz and a bunch of concentrates and to top it off shared a cell with him.
It coulda been worse though.
