Auto flowering strains...

If you take a clone from one of these, will it want to go to flower the same time as the mother plant, regardless of the light per day? ( I'm guessing yes... )
And I'm guessing too that an 'auto' will go to flower even if it's under 18 - 24 hrs light/day?
I got zero experience or knowledge on this subject, and I'm curious.

You guessed right. No clones from autos

Yup, they flower at a certain age rather then light.

So( again, I'm guessing), there's no harm in leaving them at 18hrs/day?

Last year I tried cloning one late before I knew whis and it rooted while flowering and died as a little bowls worth bud in the dirt haha
I was checkin out the "berry bomb auto" from Gorilla. looks super cool. I wanna line up some fem pollen ahead of time and seed whore out some of them. A question I have, is... Is the auto gene dominant for a generation??? I hope yes

ok this is what you need to know when it comes to auto plants.
1) for best results you need to keep it on 20 hours a day for GROW and FLOWER. They need to be under that amount of light because they have a very short growth time and flower and from what i under stand they have a faster matabalisim so hence why they grow faster but wich is why they need so much light so they can produce the energy from the lights.
2) Auto plants do very bad under any form of stress. So if you do anything like transplanting it from a smaller container to a bigger container. Or taking cuttings for cloning. IF you do any type of training will stress it out to. So what will happen if u do that stuff will cause the plant to go into flower even earlier. ( i did that by mistake my first time and the plant right into flower a few days latter i cut the top off so the sides would grow out more. So i ended up getting like 1/4oz off the plant after)
3) as mag said cloning does not work with autos.. wish they did cause it woudl save me alot in seeds.
4) Growing autos would be best in hydro set up because with the massive increase of air avaible to the roots will stimulate growth by a good 30-40% more which will help increase auto ability to grow more final product. im pulling about 2 - 2.5 oz on a auto plant with doing it in hydro dwc setup.
people say u cant get good volume from autos... i disagree cause ive pulled good volume per a plant in dwc for a short period of 8-10 weeks for start to finsh. peopel say you cant get a good qualty bud from autos.. disagree i been using a purple strain that tastsy super fruity grape'ish and has a really good potency to. you can do very good with as long as u have a good strain and right set up and take care of them.
check out red poison very tasty stuff.

Cloning autos in the traditional sense doesnt work but you can clone using tissue culture.

If I remember correctly autoflowering strains will do best on 20/4 the entire 60-70 days it takes them to grow. Thats a lot of power though... Almost an extra 150 hours on your bulbs and power bill...

it really does not use that much power... in 10 weeks at 20 hours a day u used 1400 hours of light for auto flowers for start to finsh.
now if u did none auto you would use for 10 weeks of growth at 16 hours a day (wich im low balling cause i normaly use 18hours a day for 12 weeks of growth) is 1120 hours now the flowering at 12 a day for 12 weeks is 1008 hours for a total of 2128 hours
so you use 728 hours less light.. and if i do a 12 plant to 12 plants i can pull about 3 pounds off reg plants but autos i can pull 1.5 to 2 pounds depending on what strain im growing
so yes u use more light in a shorter time but in the end for grow to grow you use less power with autos. if u have a good set up you can grow good yeild in a short time to off set that extra power usage to make it worth your time.
