auto flower ?s

hello. im new to growing cannabis and i started doing a little research on different strains and such. the auto flowers peaked my interest, due to the fast seed to harvest times and only needing one grow room. are the only drawbacks to auto flowers is poor yield and not being able to take clones? hows the potency? preferably i would like a fast grower with respectable potency. any ideas?

Potency can be just fine. And yes as you stated the draw backs are as you suspect, but you can do a sea of green with them pretty easily to help with the yield thing.
Or you can just flower a normal strain from seed and get a grow time of pretty much the same.

Autoflower advertised seed to harvest time is bs. My La Diva was supposed to be done almost 3 weeks ago, and she's still growing new pistils.
BUT she looks potent as fck trichs reach the upper fan leaf tips

Wait a second, you are basically saying that you could take clones from an auto? Don't you mean ScroG (Screen of Green)???

No, he's talking about SEA of green. Its where you have a bunch of small clones (or a large number of auto's), all flowered from the time they were rooted.
And no, you can't take clones from an auto. Their flowering cycle starts too early to be able to successfully clone them.

I know, plants should be in veg photoperiod for cloning. But isn't hawk basicly saying you could do it with autoflowers? This should be clarified because I believe I'm not the only newbie who has that question after reading this.

I don't know how many times I need to repeat myself. And I have no clue where the hell you're getting the idea that Hawk said you can clone an auto. Obviously, you mis-read what he's saying.

Ok I thought SoG implies cloning from a mother plant. That's probably the point.

Use you're heads here guys. If you want to do a sea of green with autos, you just plant a whole lot of auto seeds, since autos pretty much have just one main cola to begin with.
You don't have to have clones to do SOG.

The la diva is definitely the better yielder, and better but:leaf ratio. Can't say much about the potency, she's still drying. Thanks brah. I get taken aback myself sometimes, looking at that jungle lol
And yeah, I'm pretty late, but i haven't had Internet acces in almost a week. Been camping like a caveman...

Uhhh....if you vegged it that long then it's not an auto flower. Auto flowers flower on their own.....hence the name.

It was Big Bang Auto-flower by greenhouse seeds from attitude seed-bank, Im not sure why it took forever, might be cause I have it in a DWC with a different strain. I got it under a 400 watt mh/hps Sorry didn't mean to thread-jack

Did you have to manipulate the light schedule at all for it to initiate flowering?

I've heard about auto's that turn out to not be true auto's. I grew one Afgan kush ryder and it was a really nice auto, although I wish I would have let it go another week or two, I chopped around the time it said, and true, it was ready and smokeable, but I like to let my buds plump up a little. Great bud as well.
I was curious about what it would have done under 18hrs of light the whole time. I flipped the switch to 12 for other plants, but it was already showing its flower
